Özkul Hal?produces the carpet for Sana Mosque in Oman
AN IMPRESSIVE PROJECT BY ÖZKUL HALI
Ali Rýza Özkul: “Sana Mosque in Oman has the largest covered area in the world. We are producing the carpet for this mosque and we have created special colors and designs. This project is particularly important to us because with this project we represent Turkish carpet sector as well.?/p>
Özkul Hal? started hand made carpet production in 1912, and has been serving carpet sector through four generations. The company had been a pioneer in the sector and imported the first carpet weaving machine to Turkey from Germany in 1952. Today Özkul Hal?proceeds on its way with the principle of constant renovation.
Ever since its establishment, the company built a reputation on its unique production of 100% natural woolen carpets. New technologies are highly appreciated and Özkul Hal?continues its production in respect of creative and original designs. What the company suffers from the most is the imitation original creations. Ali Rýza Özkul, fourth generation member of the company, says: “We pay a great attention to be original and not to imitate any other design. We certainly invest on manpower and technology at all times.?
As a leading company in mosque carpet industry, Özkul Hal?has years of experience and has installed approximately 32.000 square meters of mosque carpet in 35 countries in 5 continents up until now. For large scale projects, special colors and designs are created and all carpets are made of 100% New Zealand wool. For Sana Mosque project Özkul Hal?once again prefered 100% New Zealand wool yarns. The carpet has turquoise color for men’s area and rose for women’s area. The mosque has four dome and the carpet has a round shape right under each dome. Each square meter weights 4.6 kg and the carpet will be 15 mm thick. The opening of the mosque is planned to be early in 2008.
